Lincolnshire Coop Volunteer Celebration and Training Event

At Crown Hall Farm, we love hosting events that make a real difference, and it was a pleasure to welcome Lincolnshire Co-op for their Volunteer Celebration and Training Day.

Lincolnshire Co-op's dedicated volunteers give their time throughout the region to support local communities in countless ways. From organising Wellbeing Walks and Community Cuppas to running community libraries within local Lincolnshire Co-op branches, their volunteers make a lasting impact every day.

Andrew Bullivant, Lincolnshire Co-op Senior Community Coordinator, said: “Our celebration events are a fantastic opportunity to thank our incredible volunteers, for their dedication to making life better in our local communities.

The aim of the event was simple but important:

• Bring volunteers together from across the local area.

• Celebrate their dedication and achievements.

• Provide valuable training to support them in their volunteering roles.

• Encourage networking, collaboration and wellbeing.

Creating the Perfect Environment

The day began with a relaxed arrival, allowing volunteers the opportunity to meet, reconnect and share experiences over refreshments before the formal programme began.

Following a warm welcome from Andrew, Senior Community Coordinator at Lincolnshire Co-op, more than 60 volunteers were divided into smaller groups for a series of engaging breakout sessions.

Using our spacious marquee, marquee extension and extensive outdoor grounds, each group rotated through a variety of interactive activities, including:

• Seated exercise sessions led by Peterborough United Football Club.

• Defibrillator training with Newark Community First Aid

• Food tasting sessions with Lincolnshire Co-op Love Local suppliers.

• Wellbeing and community-focused workshops.

One particularly enjoyable session saw volunteers sampling two new muffin flavours from Gadsby’s bakery, which is based in Southwell, and helping the supplier decide which recipe should make it to production. Judging proved far from easy—both flavours were a huge success!

Flexible Spaces for a Dynamic Event

One of the key advantages of Crown Hall Farm is the flexibility of our venue.

The event made full use of:

• Our luxury marquee, for presentations and group activities.

• The marquee extension, for additional breakout sessions.

• Our extensive outdoor spaces, for wellbeing activities and networking.

• The surrounding countryside, for a guided Wellbeing Walk after lunch.

This combination of indoor and outdoor areas allowed multiple activities to run simultaneously, while ensuring volunteers had plenty of room to relax, learn and connect throughout the day.

Freshly Prepared Catering

Guests enjoyed a generous buffet lunch, beautifully presented on rustic wooden platters, creating a relaxed atmosphere where volunteers could continue conversations before heading out on a Wellbeing Walk through the surrounding countryside.

The Outcome

The day successfully brought together volunteers from across the region in a welcoming and inspiring setting.

By combining celebration, practical training and wellbeing activities within one flexible venue, Lincolnshire Co-op created an event that recognised the incredible contribution of its volunteers, while investing in their future development.
