Kerry & Ryan: A Country Wedding Destined To Happen

Kerry and Ryan’s love story is the kind that leaves you in awe!

They met in a small town on the east coast of Australia, while they were both travelling. Ryan was walking with a friend when Kerry and her two friends asked him to take a picture of them. Ryan thought Kerry was super cute, and feeling a bit cheeky, he snapped a selfie of him and his friend in addition to taking pictures of the girls. They exchanged a few words and went their separate ways. A few days later, Ryan was in a bar in Noosa, 200 miles north of the small town where they had first met. Kerry walked into the bar, looked at Ryan and said, “I’ve got a picture of you.” And that’s how it all started.

After travelling together for two months, Ryan and Kerry went their separate ways. Ryan had a strange feeling that he wasn't where he was supposed to be in New Zealand, where he had flown to, and so he flew back to Australia on a whim. That very night, on Valentine’s Day 2019, they met again in the bar in Noosa, where they had first reunited a few days before, and their love blossomed from there.

Fast forward to September 2020, and Ryan popped the question to Kerry at an Airbnb they were staying at in Newquay, Cornwall. It was a surprise, and Ryan proposed with his grandmother's engagement ring, which his mother had gifted him. Ryan's grandparents had been married for almost 70 years, so it was a special moment for them both.

When it came to planning their wedding, Kerry and Ryan's main goal was to have a great party for everyone to meet and celebrate after the pandemic had stopped so many family gatherings. Their families had never met in person, only on FaceTime, as Ryan’s family lives in the US and Kerry's in the UK, and during Covid, there were restrictions between the two countries.

They say they chose Crown Hall Farm as their country side wedding venue, which was local to Kerry's family, because it had the ability to host a large wedding, an outdoor pretty setting with indoor options in case of bad weather, and the option to have the ceremony at the same location. The friendly owners offered flexibility, advice, and help from day one, which made the process of planning the wedding from the US easy.

Their decorative touches included amazing round flower centrepieces, coordinating with the bridal and bridesmaids' flowers, done by Stephanie’s Flowers in Bourne. The mix of white roses, eucalyptus, thistles, and a small amount of pampas grass gave the venue a romantic and rustic feel. The three-tiered cake was made by Linda Glitherow at Crowland Cake Creations and was decorated with florals by Stephanie’s Flowers. The table plan consisted of round tables with white tablecloths, a top rectangular table, and table numbers/design by The Reverie Events. Whilst also helping with the overall look and feel of the celebration, they also provided dusty blue table runners, white napkins, and a white postbox for wedding cards.

Kerry wore a bridal dress from Grace Loves Lace, an Australian company. The dress was called Hart, and it was made of stretchy lace fabric with no buttons or zips, making it extremely comfortable to wear. Her hair and bridesmaids' hair were done by Rebecca White, and the bridesmaid hair accessories were also from Rebecca White. Kerry's hair vine was from SarasBoutique.

Kerry and Ryan's wedding was a beautiful celebration of their love and commitment to each other. Their love story is a true testament to the fact that sometimes, the universe has a plan for us that we don't even know about.
